These appointments are for folks dealing with injuries* or other strength, flexibility, or performance issues who want to gain a clear understanding of what's going on with their body and how to best tackle it. Whether we are meeting virtually or in-person, my appointments all have the same structure.  Here’s what to expect:

We’ll start by talking about your injury and movement history. I like to spend a good amount of time understanding what your life looks like from a holistic/zoomed out perspective before diving into your current issue. After a thorough history, we’ll move on to a movement analysis, where I’ll assess your range of motion, strength, and other discipline/injury specific tests.

After your evaluation, we’ll chat about my findings: what are the primary contributing factors to your injury/issue, and what are we going to do about them. If I feel that there is any need to refer you to outside providers for imaging or testing, we’ll go over that in detail, too.

And finally— the last part of our sessions is the fun part…exercise prescription! You’ll be given at least one exercise for each mobility or strength issue that we uncovered in the assessment. It’s important to me that you understand WHY you’re doing each exercise, and take time to try out multiple variations so that we land on the one that’s most suited to your specific needs.

IN PERSON VISITS: If we’re working together in-person at my Portland office, we’ll spend the last few minutes of our session video recording all of your exercises (with either your phone or mine - whatever you prefer). I’ll record you doing each exercise, and include all of the verbal descriptions for each drill: what you should feel, where you should feel it, and how to progress. That way, you walk out of our session with everything you need (no generic exercise handouts; no need to take frantic notes to commit everything to memory).

VIRTUAL VISITS: If we met virtually, you will receive your exercise program via email within 48 hours. Your program will be in video form, and have each exercise we discussed along with voice-over cues on technique, progressions/regressions, and dosage/frequency. I make these for each patient, not from a video library, so your program is ALWAYS catered directly to you.

By the session's end, you'll have a clear understanding of your situation and a program of exercises to get you back on track towards your goals.

*Please note, virtual injury assessments are limited to residents of Oregon, California, Utah, Virginia, or Colorado due to PT licensing regulations. If you reside elsewhere, you can still book this appointment but it will be non-diagnostic.If you have an active injury, please consult a licensed physical therapist in your state for assessment.

I’m out of network with all insurance companies, but am happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits.

One hour visits are $199 USD, and 30 minute follow-up visits are $95 USD. I offer sliding scale for my top surgery consultations (info in the booking link).

My treatment approach differs significantly from the traditional "2-3 visits per week for 6 weeks" model. Since the majority of your progress happens through consistent work between sessions, I typically only need to see patients 2-3 times total for each injury or issue, spaced over 6-8 weeks.

After each visit, you'll receive a personalized exercise/recovery program to follow at home, so the ball is in your court! Of course, I’m always available between sessions for questions. This approach empowers you to take control of your recovery while requiring fewer office visits.
